Patriot Front is a white nationalist hate group that broke off from Vanguard America in the aftermath of the deadly “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, of August 12, 2017. -SPLC
Patriot Front is a white supremacist, neo-fascist, and American nationalist group. Their goal is to create a false image of patriotism while they promote their hateful beliefs. They believe their ancestors “conquered America and bequeathed it solely to them” (ADL). This means their goal is to disregard any sort of cultural origin that differs from their European ancestors. They spread this hate through their various social media accounts and the placement of stickers, banners, and posters across college campuses and their surrounding communities. Patriot Front also gains attention through flash mobs and other demonstrations, including marches & rallies.
Patriot Front uses a variety of different types of banners & posters. This could be done for a variety of reasons. This may make it harder for people who want to remove them to track them down, if the posters are regularly changing. It makes it harder to know what to look for, especially if the poster does not have the group’s name boldly placed on it. Another reason this may be done is to grab their targeted audience’s attention. These posters tend to use the commonly known patriotic colors, red, white & blue. This may encourage people to take notice of this propaganda, and those who are uneducated on the group may blindly approve of it.
